Earthly Horizons Floral Designs was officially established in 2007 and named by this couple's first born son. The family owned business was designed and created by owners with extroardinary talents and untameable imagination. The craft has since then been passed along to the children who have added a twist to this taste and now the entire family is creating incredible Art with Flowers.
R. Bethea has had flowers on the brain for well over 25 years. Initially, he would choose the perfect arrangement for his then sweetheart, and now wife, L. Bethea. At that time, he would choose an already-made arrangement and then dictate to the Florist how he wanted to change this arrangement to fit his liking. Now, he chooses his own specific flowers, colors, with the precise vessel necessary to complete his creation. He specifically coordinates his movements with his thoughts in order to design a replica of his photographic memory. His confirmation of approval arrives when he witnesses the expressions of amazement and delight on her face. Priceless!
Inspired by his wife, Bethea's dream was to form a family business from this favorite past-time pleasure. Although Construction is his trade and Building Designs is his profession, the idea of creating these unique floral designs from the delicacy of flowers---has now become his ultimate challenge...

Brooklyn Botanical Gardens 2005. Completed classes at Flower School at the Botanical Gardens of Brooklyn under the supervision of the very well-known George Vallo (Portafiori Floral Design Studio) Flower School of New York 2006. Completedclasses at the prestigious Flower School of New York in Tudor City, NY under the supervision of Master Creator Felipe Sastre. Opalia Flowers 2007. Completed a 6-month internship, 3-months required, at Opalia Flowers of Boerum Hill in Brooklyn, NY under the supervision of Owner, Phoebe Crary
In addition, to the above credentials, Bethea has two years of free-lance floral arranging experience below the belt that motivated him further to perfect this inborn talent into a craft.
Bethea became more confident that the floral designs produced from mere pictures in his mind were being considered as more than just nice or pretty. These unique designs are now being approved by well-known and established Florists that have been in the business for over 30 years.
It is quite evident that the time has come to share this gift with the rest of the world and make this long-term dream come true!
